CSCS Advanced Scaffolding


Advanced Scaffolding training is relevant to persons erecting bespoke designed scaffold systems and tube and fitting scaffolding systems as well as scaffolding where loading bays are greater than 7m in heights and where additional components are to be used such as fans, cantilevers, pavement frames etc.   


To provide and ensure that attendees have the required skills to safely and efficiently erect scaffolding within the limits of the course as detailed in the applicable code of practice (2018) 

To confirm that these skills meet the relevant standards.

Who should attend/Pre-Requisites  

Candidates over 18 years of age in receipt of current Safe Pass Card and Manual Handling Training.

Irish PPSN.

Good understanding of written and spoken English (if not a SOLAS approved interpreter will be required) 

Twelve months experience within last two years and in receipt of Basic Scaffolding ticket. (Evidence of prior learning will be required)

Health and fitness declaration to be completed. 

This course is aimed at operatives who do not currently have a CSCS card in this area.

  • Hazards associated with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding 
  • Inspection and selection of components used in scaffolding 
  • Correct insertion and positioning of scaffolding components for a variety of scaffolding tasks 
  • Tube and Fitting Scaffolding Components and Functions 
  • Erection and tying of an independent, cantilever and drop scaffold. 
  • Interpretation of scaffolding drawings 
  • Quantifying materials and components required for scaffolding tasks. 
  • Correct use of ropes and knots when setting up and securing ladders and loads 
  • Effects of weather conditions and proximity hazards
