Advanced Scaffolding (Level 2)

Duration of training
The course lasts for 10 days.

Minimum and maximum class numbers
Classes can vary from 5 – 9 learners.

Participants will be awarded a QQI certificate & SOLAS CSCS Ticket on successful completion

Required Prior Learning
Basic Scaffolding (Level 1) CSCS ticket for at least 1 year and experience working with tube and fitting scaffold and Kwick Stage scaffolding, a valid Safe Pass & Manual Handling certificate

Each learner must provide the following equipment in order to attend the course:

  • Body harness with shock absorbing lanyard
  • 9/16th scaffold spanner
  • 10″ stabila spirit level
  • System scaffold hammer
  • Tape measure
  • Scaffold belt with pouches for all tools
  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Hard hat
  • Hi viz

Duration of certificate
5 years

Training is generally at the Safety Solutions Training facility. Training can be arranged at client’s premises.

Course description & General Information

Course Contents:

  • Course introduction & registration
  • Theory revision and preparation
  • Practical demonstration followed by candidates task of erecting a basic “frame” of an independent tubular scaffold, working to basic drawings
  • Erection & dismantling of independent tubular scaffolds, working to drawings
  • Erection & dismantling of independent tubular scaffolds with return, working to drawings
  • Working with ladder and unit beams for bridging and cantilever work
  • Practical assessment one ‘Erection & dismantling of an independent scaffold in tube and fitting’
  • Practical assessment two ‘Erection & dismantling of a system type scaffold’
  • Practical assessment three ‘Erection & dismantling of a tube and fitting tower’
  • Practical assessment four ‘Erection & dismantle of a truss-out scaffold’
  • Practical assessment five ‘Erection & dismantling of a roof saddle scaffold’
  • Theory revision and theory assessment
  • Course evaluation and provisional results
