Cookie Policy

Last updated: 3 July 2025

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the website owner.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). They can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by third-party services used by that site (third-party cookies).

2. How we use cookies

We aim to use cookies responsibly and only where necessary. The table below lists every cookie currently set by this website.

NameTypeDurationPurpose
careers_sessionStrictly necessary7 daysMaintains the authenticated session for administrators signed into the Careers Admin panel (/careers-admin). This cookie is only set when an admin user logs in and is not set for regular website visitors. It is httpOnly and cannot be accessed by JavaScript.
No analytics or tracking cookies. We do not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and appropriate consent mechanisms will be put in place before any such cookies are set.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

The careers_session cookie is strictly necessary for the secure operation of our careers administration panel. It allows authorised staff members to remain signed in while managing job listings and applications. Without this cookie the admin panel cannot function.

Under Regulation 5(5) of the European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (Ireland's implementation of the ePrivacy Directive), strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the requirement to obtain consent.

Regular website visitors — anyone who does not log into the admin panel — will not have this cookie set on their device.

4. How to manage and disable cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling the careers_session cookie will prevent access to the careers administration panel but will have no effect on the publicly accessible parts of this website.

Instructions for the most common browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
  • Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data

You can also find detailed guidance on managing cookies for all major browsers at www.aboutcookies.org and at the Data Protection Commission's website www.dataprotection.ie.

5. Third-party content

This website does not currently embed third-party content (such as social media widgets, video players, or advertising networks) that would set their own cookies on your device. If we introduce such content in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when the policy was most recently revised. Where material changes are made, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
