Safety Solutions Group (SSG) Launches New PHECC First Aid Essentials Training Programmes

Safety Solutions Group is delighted to announce the launch of our new PHECC First Aid Essentials programmes, designed to make life-saving first aid skills more accessible to workplaces, childcare providers, schools, sports clubs, community groups and individuals across Ireland.

While many organisations already have designated First Aid Responders, emergencies can happen anywhere and at any time. Having a wider network of trained people on site can make a real difference in those critical first few minutes before emergency services arrive.

Our new PHECC-certified First Aid Essentials courses provide practical, easy-to-understand training that gives participants the confidence to step forward and help when it matters most. Both programmes are delivered in a single day and include CPR and AED training, making them an ideal solution for organisations looking to strengthen their emergency preparedness.

Basic First Aid Essentials

Our PHECC Basic First Aid course has been developed for employers who want to improve workplace first aid awareness without committing additional staff to the three-day First Aid Response (FAR) programme.

The course equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills to recognise and respond to common workplace emergencies while supporting designated First Aid Responders on site. Importantly, it is not intended to replace a FAR qualification but rather to complement and strengthen existing first aid arrangements.

This programme is particularly suitable for offices, warehouses, retail environments, manufacturing facilities and construction sites where employers want more members of their team to have the confidence to respond during an emergency.

Paediatric First Aid Essentials

For those who work with or care for children, our PHECC Paediatric First Aid course provides practical training focused on emergencies involving infants and children.

Participants learn how to respond to a range of common medical emergencies and injuries, including choking incidents, asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, febrile convulsions, burns, bleeding incidents and more. The programme also includes CPR and AED training, ensuring learners develop both practical skills and confidence.

This course is ideal for childcare providers, early years educators, crèche and Montessori staff, teachers, SNAs, sports coaches, parents and guardians who want to be prepared when children need help most.
